Collection of manuscripts and miscellaneous historical notes including "Kings County in Fact, Legend, and Tradition," a draft of part one of "Personal Reminiscences of Men and Things on Long Island," as well as historical essays on Long Island history, the Brooklyn Philosophical Society, the Apprentices Library, Gabriel Harrison (1812-1902), and Gilbert Vale (1788-1866). Other general essays concern women's history, metaphysics, ethnography, and history. Also includes letter from Orville B. Ackerly commenting on Tredwell's book about Long Island and adding information about the revivalist Jimmy Horton.
